The second of two samplers from the two-part X LP manages, despite its small size, to give a taste of the albums' diversity. 'Stand By You' by production duo Hypercolour is charged with their distinctive energy and vibe: big-room soulful vocals, rambunctious breaks and euphoric chords. Prime-time dancefloor business, equally at home on an outdoor rig or a sweaty rave. Mike G's 'Prism Bars', by contrast, is all ice-cold, shimmering FX and shuffling, off-kilter beats, overlaid with eerily descending triplets: a moody and dangerous theme from a thriller soundtrack.
